On Sunday's sermon of «Philadelphia» church, Izhevsk, on 5th of April, Ilyas Mukhametdinov held a word. He offered to think over Christ's words about conflict with an adversary concerning the case, where you are wrong. «Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison» (Matthew 5:25). Moving away from actual meaning of these words, Ilyas offered spiritual understanding of these verses. A judge is God, prison is hell, but who is the adversary? It is definitely not a Satan, because you can't settle matters with him. It is we ourselves, or our conscience that reveals us. «Before my repentance I cut deals with me conscience or ignored it, but after I assumed the blame was on me and my conscience gave a birth to my faith in Christ», - the server shared his experience. Conscience is our compass, a navigator on our way of following Christ. Bible says the about those, who rejected conscience and have suffered «shipwreck with regard to the faith» (1 Timothy 1:18-19). Conscience is not a measure of justice, because - as Bible says - it can be evil or clean, honest and kind. Conscience can be poisoned and corrupted by the devil, but in hands of God it becomes our perfect guide. The server called to settle matter with our conscience and see - it is way easier to go the distance, because your adversary becomes your perfect helper.

Pastor Dmitry Vladykin spoke about hope in God. Christ called: «Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest» (Matthew 11:28). Being in a hurry, one can think it is about non-believers and we already have been given all rest we could ever get. And you start to be sad that the rest you've been given is not enough, it's too small but weariness is so, so big. But it is not about repentance at all. Isaiah wrote we would all get tired someday, but those who hoped in the Lord would renew their strength and wouldn't grow weary (Isaiah 40:25-31). We can see how great and unpredictable our God is through Isaiah's words: «He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name». We need to know God to trust Him and hope in Him. We don't know the way He acts but we can believe His promises. Telling straight - we don't have another choice: hope in God is the only way to labor and not get tired.
