The crumbs of the Lord

On April 29 pastor of the church “Salvation in Jesus”, the city of Chita, Andrei Panasovets spoke a sermon at the service of “Philadelphia” church in Izhevsk. The preacher delved into the story of a Canaanite woman who came to Jesus to ask for help (Matthew 15:21-28). Due to her sincere faith and humbleness before the Lord, she got the answer – her daughter was healed. However it didn’t happen at once. Christ’s first reaction to her pleading was silence. But God’s silence is also an answer, so the woman bowed before Jesus, admitted His authority and trusted that even the crumbs from His table could solve her problem. We should realize that everyone faces pain from time to time, but the right reaction to it can get us closer to Christ and become a great blessing.

After that bishop of the RCCEF in the Far Eastern Federal District, pastor of the church “The Good News” in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Peter Yarmoluyk preached his sermon. He reminded of some very important truths. First of all, that we will never be alone, God is always next to us. Secondly, we will never be the same: we are changing and transforming while we are contemplating the Lord’s glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). Thirdly, we will always have a choice, because we are choosing the foundation to stand on (Deuteronomy 30:19). Fourthly, we will never be perfect while we are on earth, but we should try to become ones in our thoughts and actions (Matthew 5:48). And finally, God never breaks His promises (Numbers 23:19) – and this is what delights us and instill confidence.
